The Venezuelan manager of the White Sox, Ozzie Guillen told reporters yesterday that his comments out of context last Sunday, according to which the asian players receive better treatment than latin Americans as they try to reach the majors.
The outspoken Chicago skipper said that asians receive more privileges in U.S. than latins.
He added that he is the only one in the majors advising latin american players stay away from doping, because the managers of the largest not show much interest in the subject.
The White Sox felt Guillen was wrong.
On Tuesday in Detroit, Chicago manager said he would not criticize his club or baseball.
He added that only tried to explain how difficult it is for latin players to play in the U.S..
Mike Levin, a spokesman for Major League Baseball to labor issues, questioned the veracity of Guillen's comments and said that the majors are working hard to prevent doping in both the Dominican Republic and Venezuela and other countries.
In the MLB office in the Dominican Republic Sandy Alderson was appointed to attack mainly the problems associated with doping and the falsification of documents for sale as younger individuals.
