SANTO DOMINGO .- The baseball academies in the majors operating in the Dominican Republic decided not to evaluate players Haitians, under the argument that they have no security over personal data they present, Dominican coaches yesterday denounced Andres Martinez, alias Chaca; Sixto de la Cruz (Brazoban) and Juan Pena Reynoso (Chico).

Chaca and Brazoban, who are coaches in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, said recently they were obliged to put into several prospects Haitians, with excellent conditions, because no one wanted to evaluate.

"Last week I had to dispatch four, because I wanted to present to several listeners, who refused to see them and when asked about the reason for the position told me that unfortunately were not allowed to see players Dominico-Haitians," he revealed Chaca.

While Brazoban said he had to dismiss two Haitians pitchers throwing 90 to 91 mph For the same reason.

"These are guys with good physical, holding their passport and birth certificate Haitians, but the scouts told me they do not see them because researchers from the MLB office that works here will not let pass the Haitian players," said Brazoban, and added:

"It is unfair that the boys of that neighboring country are denied the opportunity given to the Cubans and Venezuelans, mainly those who are signed without investigation."
