Alex Rodriguez
Canadian physician who is under investigation in his country and the U.S. for drug trafficking said he tried to Alex Rodriguez after the Yankees slugger New York hip was operated last year and only prescribed analgesics.
Rodriguez, in addition to Carlos Beltran and José Reyes, have been contacted by U.S. federal agents about the research of Dr. Anthony Galea.
Rodriguez said last week he was aware of the investigation and will cooperate with investigators. Galea is facing drug trafficking charges in Canada.
His assistant was arrested last year for trying to smuggle human growth hormone to cross the border into upstate New York.
Galea told The Associated Press on Monday that treated the Yankees star at the hip, which was "swollen". But Galea said that never supplied human growth hormone to any athlete and that Rodriguez had received only analgesics.
