NBA Dominicans Called for Centrobasket




A total of 43 players were summoned by Dominican Basketball Federation to integrate the team that will represent the Dominican Republic in the Central American and Caribbean Championship (Centrobasket) to be held here from 5 to 11 July.


The group is led by NBA players, Al Horford, Francisco Garcia and Charlie Villanueva.

The list also includes Luis Flores, Edgar Sosa, Sammy Mejia, Ronald Ramon, Manny Quezada, Josh Asselin, Antonio Pena, Jack Michael Martinez and Angel Nunez.

Also included were Jose Olivero, Ricky Soliver, Adris Leon, James Fedelino, Eniel Polynice, Eloy Vargas, Rome Sanders, Danny Tavarez, Alex Chambers, John Garcia, Luis Martinez, Carlos Morban, Alberto Ozuna, Kelvin Pena, Juan Coronado, Werner Diaz, Manuel Fortuna, Orlando Sanchez, Victor Rafael Crisostomo and Liz.

They were also shortlisted Franklyn Western, Santos Martinez, Juan Pablo Montas, Henry Valdez, Amaury Filion, Carlos Paniagua, Sandro Encarnación, Dago Pena, Ruben Guillandeaux, Guarionex Rivera, Juan Leyba, Manuel Guzman.

The national project director of selections, Hector Baez, said the squad will participate in an evaluative first camp to be held on 9, 10 and 11 June at the Palacio de los Deportes Virgilio Travieso Soto under the direction of the attendees and Clay Moser
Rich Adubato.


The head coach, Eric Musselman, arrive in the country on 13 June. Moser and Scott Adubato will do on day 8.

Creole Attendees will Melvyn Lopez, Antonio "Chicho" Sibilio, Edgar de la Rosa, José "Maita" Mercedes Nelson and Jose Garcia Ureña.

Participate in the 2010 Centrobasket selections Belize, Cuba, British Virgin Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago and Dominican Republic.
