Dominican Swimmer Díaz Got his Goals

Deep diving is one of the biggest fears of human beings. However, since age six Marcos Diaz has ignored that.

And now, Diaz I engaged in a great project "Swim of the Continents" which transcends the boundaries sports and achieving the millennium development goals, making four trips around the world.

These began last May, when he connected with Asia Pacific, Asia to Africa recently.

The third voyage was made in July and will consist in linking Africa with Europe, and the last one in August which will link Europe and America. Later in the headquarters of the United Nations will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the signing of these objectives.

Ultradistance Dominican champion in open water, Marcos Diaz, said he has enjoyed the first two cruises, but faced little difficulty reaching their destination, especially in the first, but ultimately were erased with the welcome he gave the public you receive it.

"Those were the most pleasant surprises, the support of the people and media in Papua and Indonesia took up this project and their reasons," he said during a press conference held at Hotel Ambassador.

"That gives me extra motivation to do things the best way possible," said Diaz, who in 2004 became the first Dominican to cross the Channel, with a time of nine hours, 56 minutes and 33 seconds .

For Honorary Ambassador of Goodwill, Marcos Diaz, this is the biggest challenge in his career, which brought up the name of the Dominican Republic at the national and international events it has participated.

Diaz said his greatest satisfactions is when they get to places to work jointly with the United Nations in schools, universities, youth forums, which deplete a busy schedule of social work.

"I was glad when we visited one of those sites, and someone approached me and told me to swim through for us", he said.

These achievements put the country into the limelight, when social work is thus challenging the sea, choppy waters and sacrificing his life, Diaz has led north the good of humanity.
