Ronaldo Doesn't Fear Spain

Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo said today that he has no "fear" of a possible crossover in the second round with Spain, although he acknowledged that is a selection of high quality.

"The first phase is trying to pass and if we do first, the better. We must face reality if we have to play against Spain will not be afraid because we are ready for everything," said the Real Madrid player told a news conference before the last training before traveling to play against Ivory Coast.

Luso midfielder acknowledged the quality of team coached by Vicente del Bosque, but would not detract from the combined Luso and stressed they can win in Spain.

"I see Spain as a candidate to win the World Cup but I have no fear of anything and we will try to win," said the Portuguese captain.

Cristiano Ronaldo says the best way to tackle the World Cup is to go game by game and not want to think in making the semi-finals, as happened four years ago in Germany.

"We have to think in the first match against Ivory Coast. It will be very difficult, but if we win two games to the next stage," he said.

In his opinion, since then "anything can happen" and "details count a lot" in the fate of a selection in a tournament of this entity.

The player wanted to play down the presence or absence of Didier Drogba, because, despite its high quality, the African team is composed of eleven players and not just one.

Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that the ball of the World Cup, Jabulani, is "difficult" but said they have been carrying out specific training to adapt to it, what they have accomplished in these past three weeks.

The Luso International also expressed on other controversial elements of this world, the "vuvuzela" (trumpets) that does not stop ringing for parties.

"Nobody likes 'vuvuzela' but you have to respect the public, but it is true that it is hard to concentrate with so much noise," he said.

The player admitted that Portugal will notice during this World Cup absences due to injury and Bosingwa Nani as the best players "always needed."
