FIFA expect 26,000 millions of TV Viewers for World Cup

The cumulative audience of 64 matches of the FIFA World Cup that began today will be followed globally for a total of 26 000 million viewers around the globe, as stated by FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke. 

During the 60th Congress of FIFA, Valcke said that in the field of communication, the tournament exceeded that of Germany with the presence of 3,000 journalists from print and digital pages, nine photographers and 15,000 professionals in radio and television , with a total of 179 companies with television rights.

"This will be the first World Cup in which matches are filmed in 3D and will be available in eleven languages signal for more than five hundred channels of a total of 210 countries of the world", he said.
