
With a remembrance of a historic battle in the Olympic lides between dominicans Pedro Julio Nolasco and Danilo Cabrera (Cuero Duro), which ended with a 3-2 vote and then a collective stoning leaders and forcing judges to slip below the ring; José Oscar Fernandez started his new book called "Fists of Glory."
The book, which takes in 446 pages of the history of amateur Dominican boxing , was published by the Ministry of Sports, in a ceremony headed by the Minister Felipe Payano, who praised the new contribution of José Oscar Fernandez to sports literature in the Dominican Republic.
The veteran journalist said that the book presents the results of the boxers Dominicans in the official games (Central America and the Caribbean, Pan American, World and Olympic Games), as well as regional boxing tournament of the same levels.
Sports Minister considered the contribution of Fernández journalist as "a mandatory reference book for anyone who likes boxing", as with his first book "The twelve magnificent," which tells of Dominican basketball history and has been of great benefit to the discipline.
"I congratulate José Oscar Fernandez and ask other reporters that his colleagues have not yet written to encourage and follow in their footsteps ... there comes the help of sports literature, which I hope to see great contributions of all who want to leave a legacy for future generations.
"I announce here that more than 26 sports books ever written and have been sponsored by the Ministry will soon be in the Sports Museum of the Dominican Republic, as the people need to know the history of different sports and that the task of you, "forward Payano.
The immortal of Sport, and most successful Dominican world boxing champion, Leo Cruz, had words of praise for the book, as well as the National Boxing Commissioner, Franklin Nunez.
