LONDON (AP) .- The Romanian Victor Hanescu tennis has been fined $ 7,500 for spitting in the direction of some spectators who rebuked him during his match against Daniel Brands.
The Romanian, who had let slip a two-set lead, he lost patience last night and appeared to spit towards audience before losing a service apparently deliberately leaving the field with the pretext that he had injured his leg.
Initially it was rumored that perhaps the punishment consisted in forbidding to come to Wimbledon next year, but eventually fined for unsportsmanlike conduct and for not trying to conclude the match.
