
Cuba declined to participate in the First World Boxing Series, which begins in November, considering it "a bridge" to the rented sport, where authorities said the island remains a "lookout for the scouts," the president of the local federation, Jose Barrientos.
A local radio station that the Series, to be conducted in several countries and concluded in January 2011, is "a bridge to professionalism, has a great approach to boxing rented," removed by Fidel Castro's revolution half a century ago.
"It has technical issues such as the 5 rounds and weight divisions, who are not in our interest. We will prepare for the Olympic boxing," he said.
