Félix Sánchez
The president of the Association of Athletics Federation (FDAAA), Jose Rubio, announced that the recent successes achieved in France by former Olympic and world champion Félix Sánchez in the 400 meter hurdles are the best times of that discipline in testing indoors, and therefore are world records.
Rubio said the difficulties to be settled in a competition of 400-meter hurdles indoors, especially when it runs on tracks of 200 meters and not 400, as Sanchez did in the first of his races this year.
Sanchez was imposed on Sunday 24 January in Bordeaux, France, with a time of 50.91 seconds to shatter the previous mark of 53.04 from French Heni Kechi and impose its first record.
After that great race, the Dominican star of the tracks moved on Saturday 30 January last at Mondeville in northwestern France, to break his own mark with a time of 50.31.
"This demonstrates the excellent conditions in which Felix is just the first month of the year. Not only did the test but did so with a world record, "said Rubio.
