Togo Soccer Team Complain Attackers

PARIS - Togo filed a complaint before the French courts against the Cabinda Liberation Front (FLEC), which claimed the attack on the bus selection Togo on 8 January during the last African Nations Cup (CAN) reported
judicial officials said Thursday.

The complaint also goes against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and its president, Issa Hayatou, the sources said.

The filing of the complaint in France, which took place on the 29th, is justified because there lies the leader of FLEC, Rodrigues Mingas, who also has French nationality.

The lawsuit lists the charges of "terrorist acts" and "murder" against the group by the Togolese bus attack that killed the second coach of Togo, Amélété Abalo, and the press officer, Komi Dodji Ocloo Azanledji. Also killed the bus driver, of Angolan nationality.

It also includes the charge of "third-party exposure to risks of death and injury", which refers particularly to the CAF.

Relatives of two victims ran as special charges in the case, the sources said.

The complaint from relatives of those killed will join the investigation opened by the Paris prosecutor's office on Mingas statements which may constitute a crime of praising terrorism.

The leader of the separatist group claimed responsibility Angolan enclave which he said was directed against the soldiers escorting the bus Togo.

"In wartime, all the shots are allowed," he said in an interview in which he promised further attacks.
