Toyota Cars are Dangerous

The monumental review is conducted Toyota-more than eight million cars worldwide-has given rise to countless media would reflect the theme with all sorts of opinion and consequences. The findings, observations and contradictions that are being disseminated at all levels, force us to try to illustrate the problem a little and focus more the subject of calls to review by the marks, measures that are neither new, nor is sporadic and that not only has to do with the automotive industry.

In the U.S., where the new problem started Toyota in the past 45 years have been called to the workshops nearly 400 million vehicles, 15 of them in 2009 alone, leaving the auto industry, with 15% in the third Instead of warnings issued by faults. The first takes the manufacture of toys, with 35% of the responses, followed by electronic equipment with 25%.

What determines a call for urgent review by the automakers, it determines that the fault detected affecting vehicle safety.

Although in some cases, the calls were initiated not until they began to be known accidents with victims, as happened a decade or so the problem that affected the Firestone tires and Ford SUVs.

For Toyota, the concern was triggered in September 2009 after several reports of serious accidents.

Usually security is the failure limit that requires manufacturers to conduct mass appeals, of which do not escape nor the great luxury brands and even those that have higher quality reputation.

In most cases, the exchange of pieces with damage are taking advantage of periodic reviews of the vehicle in case the user is not even aware of any problems. In other cases, brands do not discover the problem and only find out once it has been known by authorities to protect the client.

The way in which manufacturing flaws are made public, is normally via the media and transit authorities of the country concerned. As for the owners concerned, should be direct communication between the concessionaire of the mark and the owner of the vehicle.

All costs which affect the operations of the review are provided by the manufacturer. In the case of Toyota's recall, the accelerator has already been amended and the mark will be responsible for replacing all affected models for free. Experts estimate that the review will cost the Japanese automaker between 1,500 and 2,500 million dollars, and I think ill find it.

The engineers changed the piece involved.

The marks are required to report security flaws in their cars.

In general, failure notices issued by the world in 2009, cars accounted for 15% of the total, being overtaken by electronic equipment with 25% and 35% of toys.

In the U.S., since 1966 have been called to review nearly 400 million cars.

Car sales grow in the U.S.

In the month of January in the U.S. were sold 698,346 new vehicles, representing an increase of 6.3% over the same period in 2009. General Motors turned to be a leader with 146,315 units. In second place we met Ford, who regained second position to the disadvantage of Toyota, which sold 116,277 vehicles. Toyota is ranked in third place with a volume of registrations of 98,796 units, a reduction which is explained by the negative impact of recall eight of its models.
