Cavendish Won Step 11 in Tour de France

Mark Cavendish (HTC) yesterday won 11th stage of the Tour de France that saw the expulsion of a broker for unsportsmanlike attitude and a friendly chat between the two leaders in full competition.

Won (4 hours, 42 minutes and 29 seconds) on a stretch of mostly flat 184.5 miles between Sisteron and Bourg-les-Valence.

Luxembourg's Andy Schleck crossed the finish with the peloton and retained the 41-second lead that leads into Spanish Alberto Contador at the top of the standings. The two chatted for part of the route.

The British exceeded upon arrival in the Italian Alessandro Petacchi and Farrar, second and third. Mark Renshaw, also HTC Columbia team, was sent off three headers to the Kiwi Julian Dean.
