Five players from the Dominican Summer League received suspensions of 50 games each Monday after testing positive for steroids tested for, while the Dodgers outfielder Prentice Redman was suspended for one hundred games.

Redman tested positive a second time on an analysis of an amphetamine detector prohibited by doping program from the minors.

The suspended players included three Milwaukee: Cequea Allixon third baseman, outfielder and pitcher Salaya Erickson Leonard Lorenzo. The first two were identified as Lorenzo nandrolone metabolites, a metabolite of Boldenone.

The other two are punished Detroit pitcher Jose Valdez (noldenona too) and Oakland pitcher Leudis Benzant (metabolites of stanozolol).

This year, minor league players have been suspended sixty. The pitcher Edinson Volquez of Cincinnati was suspended by the biggest anti-doping program.

Redman, 30, is batting .332 with 10 homers and 41 RBIs in 61 games for the team from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Chosen at the tenth round of the 1999 draft by the Mets, Redman played 15 games in New York in 2003, but later went through several minor league teams. He received a 50-game suspension on 25 June and the new penalty will begin when that ends.
