Spain Won World Cup

JOHANNESBURG - A goal from Andrés Iniesta in the extension gave Spain a 1-0 win against the Netherlands in the final World Cup-2010, in Johannesburg on Sunday, doing justice to a team that deserved the victory, two years after the European Championships.

Iniesta scored the 116-minute, after receiving a pass from Cesc Fabregas area where everything suggested in a resolution penalties.

Spain, whose best result so far was a fourth in the 1950 Brazil World gets away with the curse that haunted him in the tournament.

Holland played from the 109th minute with ten players, by expulsion of John Heitinga, although the orange team might have been at a disadvantage to forgive long before the English referee Howard Webb some cards.

The team 'Oranje' lost his third World Cup final, having also fallen in 1974 and 1978.

Although Holland had said he would leave to seek possession of the ball, the reality was another, and like the rest of the teams have faced Spain in the World Cup, put a line of five defenders and four midfielders waiting rival and only Robin Van Persie tip.

The Spanish team took the ball and began to run from the beginning the pace of the game, taking his first opportunity in the 5th minute with a header from Sergio Ramos, after a free kick from the right from Xavi Hernandez, goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg got into difficulties.

But after the first Spanish attacks, Holland ended up escaping the dominance of rival past the quarter hour mark. One of the keys was marking the man who made a Xavi Hernandez from Mark Van Bommel and Nigel De Jong.

Holland showed his toughness and the referee Howard Webb English forgot one red card as an entry from De Jong, who dug his boots into the chest of Xabi Alonso.

Spain was without ideas and Holland was gradually settled, so he could get ahead on the scoreboard in the 37th minute with a move to corner where the ball came to Joris Mathijsen, who has not managed to finish when I was in good position.

The second time in the Netherlands would discount the first time with a shot from Arjen Robben, forcing Casillas to intervene with a stretch to send the ball to corner.

Netherlands, despite those two occasions, managed to reach the break with a scoreless tie with a tactic to make mistakes all the time, alternating players who made the offenses and thus avoid the cards.

In the second half, Spain went a little more focused, and on 48 minutes, was able to move forward in a corner, which he failed to finish after Joan Capdevila Carlos Puyol touched his head.

A minute later, the English referee, who had pardoned several cards to the Netherlands in the first part, would not see a penalty Van Bommel to Xabi Alonso.

Netherlands had the best chance of the match when in the 62nd minute, Wesley Sneijder launched a forward pass to Arjen Robben, who was left alone to Iker Casillas, but the Spanish goalkeeper hid his goal very well and hit to clear a corner with his feet.

The entry of Jesus Navas in the match in the 60th minute gave Peter instead of higher risk the Spanish team, who lavished the tickets right through the end of Andalusia, and one of them the best chance came under Spanish law, a final touch of David Villa was taken near the line by John Heitinga.

Another good chance came in 78 Spanish when Sergio Ramos topped only exit from a corner but the ball was high.

The referee also benefited Spain in a play in which she again escaped Robben as was to be alone with Casillas, Puyol Webb grabbed him and said no offense, a move that ended in a good Spanish goalkeeper intervention.

Spain took victory in the boots of Cesc Fabregas when he was alone before the goalkeeper Netherlands in the 5th minute of the extension after a pass from Xavi, but Stekelenberg pulled the ball with his foot once was similar to that in Robben the second half.

Navas again have the victory in their boots at minute 101 with a raid on the right, with a shot that cleared a corner Dutchman defense.

Holland played with a least the last eleven minutes after the expulsion of Heitinga Iniesta for a foul on the edge of the area, for which he received the second yellow, which took Spain to strengthen its rule and get the winner of the final four. (AFP)
