Holland Reached World Soccer Finals

Two goals from Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben in a span of three minutes on Tuesday gave the Netherlands a 3-2 win over Uruguay and go to their first World Cup final since 1978.

Left-back Giovanni van Bronckhorst, 35 years and who will retire after the World Cup opened the scoring with a shot from nearly 30 meters in the 18th minute and Diego Forlan struck a temporary tie at 41, with another shot from outside the area.

The match was decided in the blink of an eye by averaging the add, when Sneijder scored his fifth goal of the tournament in the 70th with a shot from 15 meters that passed between several legs and Robben, who had hardly seen, marked the third three minutes after his head.

David Villa and Sneijder reached the top of the scoring charts, with five goals each. Forlan has four.

Uruguay played without striker Luis Suarez, suspended, and its captain, Diego Lugano, injured, and cost across the midfield in the first time in the Netherlands took over the ball but without creating too many dangerous moves.
