
The Dominican Republic ended yesterday with the best day after the passing of the sixth round of the XXI Central American and Caribbean Games, by winning 12 medals and surpass the fifty when you're in the middle of the event.
In yesterday's competition schedule Dominican athletes won three gold medals, three silver and seven bronze and are tied with Puerto Rico with 14 gold medals, although Puerto Ricans account for 24 silver and 32 bronze for a total of 70 and the Dominican Republic has 11 silver and 34 bronze for a total 59. The discipline of karate contributed six medals including a gold medal winning Maria Dimitrova in individual female kata, while the silver medal was for equipment.
The women's volleyball to shine again at home and defeated Puerto Rico 3-2 team sets to confirm its status as Central American and Caribbean champions, to add another gold to the delegation quisqueyana.
Combat sport also performed well in its debut at these games by getting a gold medal by Angelo Mota Brea, Francisco a silver and two bronze Incarnation achieved by José Antonio Arias and Ramon Diaz. Another bronze was provided by the representation of Cycling by Euri Vidal, in the scratch test.
