A-Rod Doesn´t Want Rangers´s Sale

Alex Rodriguez filed an objection from the auctioning of the Texas Rangers to be held next week, considering that he and other players may not receive the millions of dollars owed to them.

The Rangers will be 24.9 million in deferred payments for six years after it was sold to the New York Yankees and is the largest creditor in the bankruptcy case of the team.

Rodriguez's concerns will not be a problem if the team is sold to group led by former pitcher Nolan Ryan and attorney Chuck Greenberg, who are the preferred bidders for the majors. Its bid includes $ 575 million 204 million owed to A-Rod and other creditors.

But under the procedures set for the auction on Wednesday, other potential buyers can decide which provisions to include in their bids.

"Rodriguez filed this objection limited due to potential uncertainty" resulting from the plans of other bidders, his lawyer Joseph Wielebinski wrote in a motion filed Wednesday.

In another motion filed this week, the union for major league baseball said he supports the sale of the Rangers as long as the new owner pays the debts to the past and present players of the team.

"Right now we have no reason to doubt that any of the potential buyers are considering something else, but we need to preserve the rights of players," said union attorney David Prouty.

The team filed for bankruptcy in May with a plan to pay $ 75 million to creditors and sell the club to a group of Greenberg-Ryan, but the deal was stalled by the hassle of creditors, who argued on several occasions that Ryan Greenberg offer was the highest and requested an auction, which was approved by the judge.
