Yudelkis Won Gold

Within two hours, Yudelkis Contreras yesterday claimed a career that was on the verge of falling over the precipice from Olympus.

Contreras, who tested positive in a doping test during the 2008 Beijing Olympics but in a second test results were negative, yesterday broke three brands in Central America and won three gold medals in the 53 kg women's weightlifting in the Olympics Central American and Caribbean.

"These medals I dedicate all my country, my family and the people who has supported me throughout my career," said Contreras, on the first three gold metals made by the country in the regional fair.

The Dominican put on a show in the start-up mode, starting your lifts when all other competitors had finished. With a height of 90 kilos and American broke records set at 96 kilos.

The silver went to Colombian Rusmery Villar, with 88 kilos, and bronze for the Dominican Yineisi Reyes, 87.
